K.T Manu musliar (Known as K.T Usthad), founder of Najath college of Science and Technology karuvarakundu, was basically a religious scholar who manifested in him the dignity of Islam and embodied all the quantities if an integrated personality in the contemporary age.The event that led to the formation of Darunnajath Islamic Centre in 1976 and the establishment of Najath College of science and technology in 2004, propelled him on social and educational fields as a visionary and a reformer.
His divinely inspired and socially motivated thought and vision left a deep imprint on the life of the people of his native place and its surrounding in general and the thoughts and actions of his disciples in particular. As a prominent scholar of Ahlussunnah in kerala, he was considered as an exemplary scholar who visualized the Islamization as well as the modernization of his students and followers in accordance with a teaching of the traditional Islam.
The life of K.T Usthad can be divided into three stages.
1. From childhood, when, following the untimely death of his father ,when he was still an infant of two years old, he was an orphan and brought up by his mother,till the completion of his primary schooling and elementary religious lessons at a madrassa in his native place, and then joining the learning circle adjoining to the Karuvarakundujuma masjid( where Janab Aripra MoidheenHaji the then the prominent religious scholar of Kerala was his teacher and trainer) and finally his migration to Vellore Badiyathusswalihath for taking ‘sanad’.
2. The days he made his mark as a brilliant teacher in Iringattri, nearby his native place and his journeys through out Kerala for the purpose of preaching Islam. During this period he voraciously absorbed different branches of knowledge and sciences by using all the reading materials he got hold of.
3. The start of his activities as an educationalist and religious and social activist which includes the major part of his mission, including the starting and running of Najath Institutions, till his departure from the mortal world in2009.
This division is mostly on the basis of the development of thought. As to his life as a whole his intellectual contribution to the community in different fields are well known.
